What is cryolipolysis? or lipocryolysis?

There are now truly effective alternatives to surgical liposuction for localized areas that resist our patients’ exercise and dietary efforts.

Cryolipolysis, a technique that can be easily performed on an outpatient basis, without the need for local or general anesthesia and virtually painless, has been bringing real benefits to patients seeking to treat localized fat deposits (love handles, back fat, even double chins!) for the past 7 years.

Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than skin. The procedure therefore consists of cooling the area to be treated in a controlled manner to induce a definitive destruction of the fat cells without causing skin lesions.

No injections or incisions are required. So there’s no scarring, bruising or risk of serious complications, because cryolipolysis treatment is the only FDA and CE approved technique: COOLSCULPTING.

What areas can we treat with Cryolipolysis Coolsculpting?

The effectiveness of Coolsculpting Cryolipolysis is based on the variety of tips available at the center where Dr. Molinari performs his sessions. In fact, Coolsculpting has developed different tips to treat each localized area of excess fat, no matter how small:

  • Lateral fat rolls (“love handles”),
  • Peri-umbilical fat,
  • Some saddlebags,
  • Pockets under the buttocks,
  • Double chin,
  • Back rolls under the bra.

Cryolipolysis can be performed several times if necessary.

The results obtained a few weeks after a cryolipolysis session are definitive.

It’s worth noting that many aesthetic centers today offer cryolipolysis techniques to their patients, often at low cost. (Sometimes they are even performed by beauticians using non-medical machines that can have serious side effects).

It’s important to note that only Zeltiq and its Coolsculpting treatment (the device we use at our laser center) have been tested for efficacy and safety. This means that the many other cryolipolysis devices used in France do not offer the same guarantees of efficacy or clinical safety.

Only Zeltiq Cryolipolysis has been approved by the American FDA and CE marked by the European authorities.

A preliminary consultation is required prior to the cryolipolysis session to assess the adequacy of the treatment and to provide a quote.

Concerned about offering the best treatment possibilities to his patients: Doctor Molinari in Paris was among the first dermatologists in France to train in Coolsculpting cryolipolysis in 2009.
