As its name suggests, this technique involves destroying fat-containing cells -adipocytes- by freezing them. Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than surrounding tissues such as skin, blood vessels and nerves. We can therefore use a suitable process to freeze fat and destroy it without damaging the surrounding skin, nerves or blood vessels.

The system works with a suction cup-shaped applicator that sucks in the area to be treated and cools it by extracting heat down to -10° for the duration of the treatment. To control temperature, the Zeltiq cryolipolysis (Coolsculpting) device we use is equipped with a patented system that constantly monitors skin temperature to prevent burns.

Please note that only the Zeltiq-brand Coolsculpting device has this safety feature, and has been approved by the FDA (the American health agency) and CE-marked for medical use following numerous studies.

Other machines on the market, often less expensive, have not been the subject of serious studies and therefore do not offer guarantees of effectiveness and, above all, safety.

For cryolipolysis coolsculpting treatment, as for others, the indications must be clearly defined, with an experienced physician, to avoid disappointment or unsightly results.
